The Board of a young wound care company asked our medical device consultants to identify target companies and project manage their exit through a trade sale.
A young wound care company with a novel product in clinical trials was seeking an exit post CE marking. Our medical device consultants were asked by the Board to undertake the business development phase of the exit planning by engaging with potential target companies and canvassing their interest in an acquisition or licensing deal. We developed an exit plan including presentational material and a review of recent deals in this space, and then used our specialist sector knowledge to identify likely target companies and individuals in those companies to contact. We then managed the relationship with interested companies by answering questions and providing update on clinical trials, and providing feedback to the Board.
We also provided regular reports to the Board on competitor developments that might impact on an exit and company valuation, and the competitiveness of the novel wound care product.
