Our client required support in facilitating a surgical products licensing deal with a target company.
Our client, a middle eastern surgical products company, entered discussions with a UK company regarding a potential a partnership that entailed licensing our client’s technology to the other party to enhance the performance of one of its surgical products. In preparation for licensing discussions, we undertook exercise to understand more about the target company and its products through a detailed analysis of public domain information, using our internal databases, and accessing our network of industry contacts. Our surgical products experts were able to envisage how the two technologies would be synergistic in meeting an unmet clinical need. We were also able to consider the types of deals the target company had previously done and how this might impact on its preferred deal structure. Future work may involve facilitating a deal between our client and the target company.
