A university research development office was considering investing in an internal medical device research project to develop a cardiovascular product and asked our medical device consultants to conduct a review of progress and to make recommendations for future investment.
A university research group had been working for a number of years on a novel cardiovascular invasive product. The project had been through a number of highs and lows in activity and had in the past drawn criticism as to its technical feasibility. However, at that time progress appeared to be being made on a number of fronts including the initiation of pre-clinical studies and a collaboration with a leading catheter company. Senior management in the organisation was considering further investment in the project and asked our medical device consultants to provide a top level summary on the status of the project, including current activities and a top level summary of the technical feasibility of the concept. We conducted a rapid review and made recommendations on likely decision points for further investment and commercialisation.
We are a specialist medical device consultancy consisting of industry experts with long and successful track records in commercialising medical device products. We have broad functional and sector experience, and would welcome an opportunity to discuss with you any challenge relating to creating sustainable value from medical technologies.
