We were asked by a leading global healthcare company to undertake a technical due diligence exercise on a novel medical diagnostic technology.
Our client, a global healthcare company, was considering partnering with a young medical device company to bring a novel medical diagnostic technology to market. It was proposed that the larger company would provide funding, and market access expertise to accelerate the development programme and commercialisation of the technology. The young medical device company had very specific technical expertise and intellectual property. Our client asked us to evaluate the technology (both hardware and software platform) and to assess its competitive advantage compared to products currently on the market and those in development that might pose a threat in future years. It also asked us to critique the development plan including the regulatory and clinical strategy, the industrialisation and manufacturing strategy, funding requirements and timescales for CE marking and FDA clearance. We delivered the project on time and to budget, highlighting high risk areas in the programme and making recommendations for mitigating risks.
We are a specialist medical device consultancy consisting of industry experts with long and successful track records in commercialising medical device products. We have broad functional and sector experience, and would welcome an opportunity to discuss with you any challenge relating to creating sustainable value from medical technologies.
