Our consultant Munna Choudhury attended the FierceBiotech Executive Summit in London on Tuesday 30th October 2018. She was a speaker on the panel discussing challenges and opportunities for Life Sciences after Brexit; Munna’s particular focus was on the Digital Healthcare and the pharma landscape in the context of an ageing population seeking faster, better and more convenient healthcare all at an affordable price. This led to discussions on whether we were making the most out of big data in the UK – sparking some lively views! It was also useful to discuss how well the corporate, academic and charitable biomedical infrastructures work in the UK and what they are doing to prepare for Brexit.
Munna commented: “I enjoyed lively discussions with the panel which ranged from scientific funding and collaboration issues to recruitment/retention of talent and the inevitable questions related to the challenges of an ageing population with complex diseases, consumerism in healthcare and limited NHS resources. The event was a great opportunity to widen the social network and discuss important issues in a relaxed setting.”
